A lil update

Macy will be 10 months old on the 17th!!! She is so big now! She has 5 teeth, two on the bottom and 3 on top. She took two steps today (she did it really good, like 3 times in a row) she was so proud of herself, she would clap and have the biggest smile on her face. So cute! She eats alright, she still really isn't into baby food, her favorite is sweet potatoes. she would rather just eat our food instead. She crawls very fast and good (gets into everything) she sleeps all night, and has been pacifier free for almost a week!!!! She can say da da and dad, (not ma ma yet :( ) and yeah and hi. She is so funny she puts something in her mouth (like a stuffed animal or a lil blanket) and crawls around with it in her mouth like a lil puppy or something. she is so cute. she can pull herself up onto things and can stand without holding onto something for a long time. She love me to sing her rock-a-bye-baby and patty cake, wheels on the bus, and this counting song. She loves kisses and snuggling. she thinks her daddy is so funny! and she is obsessed with water bottles (thanks to my mom)
Bobs parents bought her her first pumpkin, hopefully we will be carving it soon!!! I think she is going to be a lil fairy this year! Bob graduated with his bachelors in social work and is working full time at innovative health care as a service coordinator and just started per diem at the hospital as a social worker! I am still working in the NICU and just got accepted into a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner program that is online, it will start in March. I'm really excited. I am also a little concerned because I will have to wait until i complete the program to have more kids. The program is 2.5 years, so macy would be 3 years 8 months old when I graduate, and it took a longtime to get pregnant with her, so I think she will be like 5 years old before we actually have another kid. I'm just not ready for another one right now, and it is either now or wait, so we are waiting. I plan on continuing to work full time and school full time, so I will be busy busy. I might switch to night shift so hopefully I can study a little bit at night and then spend more time with Macy at home. We will see how it all works out.
I recently got diagnosed with severe insulin resistance (my fasting insulin level was 81, which is extremely high, but my glucose levels were good) so I was on byetta (which is a twice a day injection) and then my insurance would pay for it so I was put on metformin. I was on this prior and during my pregnancy. I have been walking with my friend Anna, and now with the cold weather we are going to stroller bootcamp at the gym. Hopefully I can lose some weight!! I need to work on the diet now, i have been watching my carbs (as they go into my mouth) but i need to cut back on portions. Anyways that is what is going on in my life right now! Life is good, has ups and downs but its all worth it in the end.

Almost 6 months!

Macy is so big!!! Yesterday while I was at work, Bob was home all day with Macy and somehow he taught her to sit by herself (which we have been working on and she normally wouldn't even try!) and then he taught her to stand holding onto the couch! I missed all of it ;( But I'm so proud of her and her daddy! She is just growing up so quickly (I mean seriously, I was only gone 12 hours) Anyways I need to get to sleep soon but I will post more after her 6 month appointment. Oh yeah I forgot to say that she rolls over now too!! So cute and doing the razz drooling/spitting thing! Way too cute!!! I love her!!

4 months already!!!

Macy went in for her 4 month appointment and did so good with the shots! She weighs 12lbs 13 oz which is in the 28th percentile, she is still short 25 inches which is in the 8th percentile and I can't remember how big her head was but it was in the 38th percentile I believe. So she is getting big! Right now she is eating 4-6 oz every 3 hours and sleeping all night!! She goes to bed between 9-10pm and wakes up around 730am!! She has rolled over from her stomach to her back and from her back to stomach! She has only done this a couple times but its a good start!

I changed my hair AGAIN!! It is mostly blonde now with some dark brown streaks. I like it and I cut it again. So the first picture is of my new hair, but you can't see it very well ;(

A little late.....

So I'm like a month late on this post.. but better late then never. We had Macy's 2 month appointment, well exactly a month ago.
Her weight was 9lbs 10 oz
Length 20 inches

I totally thought that she was at least 11 pounds... and even bet Bob that she was, and well.... I was SO wrong. Dang it! i hate being wrong.

Anyways now to the present. We are all doing well. Macy is randomly sleeping all night, I will nurse her and put her to bed between 9 and 10 and then she wakes up between 4-430 and then goes right back to sleep till 730-8am, occasionally she will skip that 430 feeding and sleep till 730!!! I love it when that happens!!!

On another note, one of my best friends had twins, they were born at only 25 weeks, so very early. We are praying that they do well. So far have had a few bumps in the road.

She slept all night!!!

9 hours last night!!! YAY! It was so nice to sleep! Macy is getting so big, I can't believe how fast she is growing. She is almost 2 months old now!!

So I went on my first neonatal transport the other day!! It was a lot of fun! But I have so much to learn. I'm an apprentice, so that means that I get to go with another nurse and basically observe and learn. I'm not the main person taking care of the baby. I will be an apprentice for at least a year and then we will re-evaluate and see if I am comfortable taking on more responsibility. At this point I am fully aware that I have SO much to learn and would NEVER be comfortable doing this on my own. But I am just so excited that I am getting the opportunity to learn more, and advance my skills. It is nice, because I am now getting to take care of more critical babies at work! This is what I love, and need to grow in this field. So anyways... I'm excited and humbled!

She Cooed!!!!

Macy cooed for the first time yesterday!!! It was the cutest thing, she was just in her swing and I was talking to her and she cooed!! I was so excited it was so cute. I had just taken her picture because she was so awake, so here is the picture of her right before she cooed!
I went back to work this week, and I love it!!! I really miss Macy while i'm gone, but it really is nice to get out of the house and go to a job that i love! My parents and sisters are watching Macy while I work, or Bob if he is home, so I don't feel as bad leaving her because she is with family!! They love her so much, she is the queen of their world, and mine too! We are still working on sleep! Mace will go about every 4 hours, and when I work it really is hard cause of the lack of sleep, but I'm learning to go to bed earlier, like 8-9pm (well that is when I should go to bed). I'm so lucky to have such a great life!! I love it!!

I Feel......

FAT! My goal is to get back to my pre-marriage weight and I thought that since I only gained 12 pounds during pregnancy that I would not have a problem getting to my goal, but that seems to not be the case. Let me explain my issue. After Bob and I got married I gained about 10 pounds and stayed at that weight for 2 years. When we decided to start trying for a baby I stopped taking my medication that I was taking for insulin resistance. Within 2 weeks I had gained 10 more pounds. After talking to my doctor I started taking my medication again, but the weight stuck. So after 3 pregnancies and NO dieting or vigorus exercise (I was scared that I would miscarry if I worked out too vigorusly)I was 20+ pounds away from my goal at the beginning of this pregnancy;(
Well now almost 6 weeks from delivery I am 4 pounds under my pre-pregnancy weight, which isn't bad except for the fact that I have stayed at this weight for the past 3 weeks. I started exercising (well I have 2 times this week) and trying to eat a little more healthy. So I guess I will just keep working at it and see if I can get to my goal. Now I know that I could lose some weight if I got on a strict diet and worked out several times a week, but I have a couple things holding me back from doing that. 1- I don't want my milk supply to decrease 2- I'm too freakin tired 3- not enough will power at this point in time.
Enough about that. Blah I hate feeling like this. But I have a beautiful daughter and a wonderful husband who tells me that I'm sexy all the time- I think he may be blind, but it is very sweet. I also have a awesome job, a great new house and I'm blessed with amazing family and friends, so I can deal with my flabby baby belly and thighs.. ha ha crazy hormones...
